Mary Peltola’s U.S. Senate campaign has removed a social media post that used appropriated imagery, including of a factory trawler owned by an Alaska company, to attack the trawling industry and its wasteful bycatch of fish.
The body of a 59-year-old Akiachak man was found this week in the Kuskokwim River, the latest in a series of boating deaths in the region.
There's plenty to enjoy in and around Anchorage this weekend, from live music and improv shows to Oktoberfest at Alyeska Resort.

In Ohio, police for months had been getting complaints about a runaway goat that was jumping on top of parked cars, scratching and denting them. Eventually, the goat — named Cardio by officers because of the workout he gave them during the chase — was surrendered to a shelter by his owner. Now, he's found his herd.
