The U.S. 10-year Treasury bond yield is now hovering above the five per cent threshold for the first time in nearly two decades amid ongoing economic uncertainty.
Carney declined to discuss in detail what that examination involved, but he suggested it would be irresponsible not to prepare for what he called “extreme tail risk.”
