TOP STORY
Cyber Week will show how well retailers have adopted AI
This year's Cyber Week will be a true test of how retailers have incorporated AI into their shopping experience.
Some 69% of US consumers plan to use AI while shopping this holiday season, according to Impact. Finding deals, comparing prices, and summarizing promotions tied as the top use cases. Shoppers also plan to use AI for product recommendations, review summaries, and local inventory checks.
That places AI at the center of Cyber Week’s defining challenge: Retailers need to stand out during a flood of promotions while proving that their offers deliver real value.
IN THE NEWS
McDonald’s recalibrates its growth strategy for a tougher QSR market. McDonald’s will invest $8.5 billion over the next 10 years as part of a larger initiative to improve quality, consistency, and the overall customer experience at its restaurants, the company announced at its Investor Day.
Changing grocery habits push CPGs to reinvent products faster. Consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies are scrambling to keep up as rising prices, GLP-1 use, and changing tastes drive households to rethink what goes in their grocery baskets.
Fashion shoppers say they care about sustainability but buy on value. While 61% of US consumers told YouGov that sustainability or environmental concerns have at least some influence on the products they choose, just 14% cite sustainable clothing and production practices as an important consideration.
