All eyes are on a potential nor’easter that could impact parts of Greater Boston as we head toward the weekend.

Here’s what we know right now: Our confidence is building that a fall nor’easter will likely impact parts of southern New England, including the Boston area, by late Friday evening through the weekend.

The exact track of this storm will determine how impactful this storm will be to our area. If the storm’s track is closer to New England, we’ll have a higher likelihood of heavy rain, wind, and coastal flooding.

Gov. Maura Healey is filing legislation to suspend the Massachusetts gas tax for two months, cutting the price of gasoline by 24 cents a gallon, she announced Monday.

“I’m doing this because I’ve watched for weeks as the price at the pump has gone up and the price of everything has gone up in this country and in Massachusetts because of Donald Trump, and I said, ‘I want to do something’… That is why I am acting today.”

She said before the war in Iran, the price of gas was about $2.90 a gallon in Massachusetts, and it’s now up over $4.40. The price of diesel was about $4.20 a gallon and is now up to $6.20.

A UMass Boston senior says a racist encounter with two guys near campus left her shaken. Now, after she posted about what happened on TikTok, Boston College High School says it is investigating.

Carly Nguyen told NBC10 Boston her mother had picked her up from UMass Boston after a long lecture Thursday when two guys allegedly yelled racial slurs at them as they were leaving campus.

“These two guys down here yelled the N-word with a hard ‘r’ and the ‘C’ slur to me and my mom as we were leaving campus,” Nguyen said in the TikTok video.

A man is facing a murder charge after allegedly shooting his father to death in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on Monday night.

Lawrence police received several 911 calls on Monday night reporting gun shots on Farnham Street, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Arriving officers found a 51-year-old man suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.

Elvin Joaquin Rodriguez, 26, was taken into custody on a warrant and later charged with murder. He is also facing charges of carrying a loaded firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

A Cape Cod man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl for years has been found guilty of child rape.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that 76-year-old Richard Alberts of Orleans, Massachusetts, had been convicted of three counts of aggravated rape of a child and a charge of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

A judge sentenced Alberts to 12 to 14 years in prison and three years’ probation Tuesday after prosecutors asked for a sentence of 20-30 years in prison and five years’ probation, according to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.

Your next flight in or out of Logan International Airport in Boston could be delayed, but Massport says there is a good reason why and it all has to do with safety.

Runway 27 is closed for 75 days so crews can finish building a bridge deck at the end of the runway to support an Engineered Material Arresting System, or EMAS.

The bridge is designed to hold a fully-loaded 747 jet, which is about 1 million pounds. EMAS is something that is required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
