Yeah so I was on a walk the other day and this tiny dog ran up to me with a leaf in its mouth. It kept doing this little hop thing and looking back like it expected me to follow it somewhere. I laughed because it was so insistent about the whole thing.
My neighbor asked how the weekend went and I said honestly it was mostly me trying to get the new bookshelf leveled. You know how it goes where one corner is always just slightly off.
Anyway the pup ended up sitting by a bench and dropping the leaf right at my feet. I picked it up and it was this perfect little maple shape with one hole in the middle.
We sat there for a minute and then the owner called him over and he trotted off happy as anything. I think he just wanted someone to admire his find.
It made me think about how small moments can turn a regular afternoon into something you actually remember. Like I probably couldn't tell you what I did most of that day but I remember that dog and the leaf clearly.
Not sure if that makes sense but it felt like a nice little reset to me. Anyway that was the highlight of the whole week so far.

My friend texted me asking what I was up to and I mentioned the bread and then she sent a picture of her cat sitting inside a cardboard box with this very unimpressed face.
We ended up talking about old movies for like an hour. I said I hadn't seen that one with the train station reunion and she said I absolutely needed to fix that soon.
So I got it from the library the next tuesday. Honestly I think the library is my favorite place to go when I need a slower day.
