Library to Preview “Alive in Many Hands” Exhibition Celebrating America’s Living TraditionsThe Library of Congress will host a media preview of Alive in Many Hands: The American Folklife Center at 50, a new exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the American Folklife Center. Opening to the public on Sept. 17, the exhibition explores how the American Folklife Center has documented, preserved, and shared living cultural traditions that connect families, communities, and generations. The exhibition draws from the American Folklife Center’s unparalleled collections to explore the traditions that people create, practice, and pass on every day, from music, dance and storytelling, to foodways, festivals, and occupational folklife.
