When will the stifling humidity let up? Not this weekend, unfortunately. Other news we're following includes the red hot Red Sox, and the latest from the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. Plus, one of Boston's most iconic landmarks is celebrating a milestone few restaurants anywhere can claim. I'm Kaitlin McKinley Becker, and these are your headlines.

Heat is a given this weekend.

With more clouds around, we’re not as hot as yesterday (94 in Boston), but we’re definitely just as humid. Dew points (higher the number the more humid the air) will still be in the low and mid-70s through tomorrow.

The heat index will hover in the low to mid-90s through the weekend.

The second week of the Lindsay Clancy murder trial wrapped up Friday after a full day of testimony, including Dr. Jennifer Tufts and another psychiatrist who treated the Duxbury mother.

Her former father-in-law was among the witnesses to take the stand Thursday in what was an emotional day.

Payton Tolle struck out a career-high 14 in six innings, Wilyer Abreu drove in three runs, and the Boston Red Sox won their ninth game in a row with a 13-1 rout of the Athletics on Friday night.

The Red Sox are just the seventh team since 1920 to win 27 or more in a 30-game span, and the only team to begin their run under .500.

Tolle (7-6) was the first Red Sox pitcher to fan 14 since Chris Sale on May 8, 2019. He was perfect through four innings, and allowed one run on two hits.

The MBTA is reminding riders that service will be suspended on four branches of the Green Line for nine consecutive days starting Saturday.

There will be no Green Line train service from Aug. 8 to Aug. 16 between Government Center and Babcock Street on the B branch; Government Center and Cleveland Circle on the C branch; North Station and Kenmore on the D branch; and Heath Street and North Station on the E Branch. These service changes were previously announced on July 15.

Officials in Stoughton, Massachusetts, issued a warning to residents on Friday after a dog died following a swim in a local pond.

The Stoughton Board of Health said in a press release issued Friday that they were saddened to hear the news about the death of a dog who swam at Ames Pond this week. They said the Board of Health and environmental health agents are looking into the matter.

“Please be advised that Ames Pond beach is tested weekly in accordance with state testing requiremetns for recreational bathing beaches, and has not encountered any exceedances this season so far for E. Coli. That’s not to say an algae bloom event didn’t take place, algae blooms can occur very rapidly under the right conditions. Algae blooms may cause illness in humans, and can be deadly for pets.”

One of Boston’s most iconic landmarks is celebrating a milestone few restaurants anywhere can claim.

Union Oyster House is marking 200 years in business this month.

The restaurant opened in 1826 and since then, it has only been owned by four families.
