Hello from your Bay Pines VA Healthcare System,

At 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, an area network outage occurred across all of Bay Pines VA Healthcare System’s sites of care. As a result, staff across the enterprise are experiencing intermittent phone and internet connectivity. Upon notification of this issue, Bay Pines VA Executive Leadership immediately instituted contingency plans.

Unless informed otherwise, Veterans should report to their scheduled outpatient appointments. If you have an appointment that cannot be facilitated without network access, you will be rescheduled at the earliest availability. The Emergency Department remains open.

This outage is a result of an accidental, major fiber cut that occurred in the community near Bay Pines. This fiber cut impacted various networks in the area, and our network carrier is working diligently to resolve this issue. Bay Pines VA IT remains in frequent communication with the carrier.
