Hello again!

When Spain take on Belgium in today's quarter-final, the tournament's smoothest operators will come up against a side that are in the midst of a particularly chaotic World Cup campaign.

My colleague Fernando Kallas sets up the clash in Los Angeles, where Spain arrive on an unbeaten run of 35 matches, while Belgium are fresh from a 4-1 win over co-hosts United States that was overshadowed by a controversial political intervention, as well as a dramatic comeback against Senegal.

Then on Saturday, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are all in action as Norway take on England and Argentina face Switzerland.

Scroll on too for Rohith Nair's story on Haaland mania sweeping Norway, as well as a look at the World Cup's hidden runners — the referees.
