I think the raised beds are the way to go for the tomatoes since drainage in that corner has always been poor. For the herbs, the narrow plots along the fence should be fine once we mix in some compost and loosen the soil. Watering will be critical the first couple of weeks after transplanting so I plan to set up a simple drip system on a timer. I checked the extended forecast and it looks dry and mild which is ideal for getting everything in the ground. If you can help with the soil prep this Saturday morning that would be great, then we can plant the following weekend once the beds settle.
