A modal confirmation dialog is supposed to do one job: help users decide whether to proceed with an irreversible action. The worst-case scenario is when they make the wrong decision and click a button they regret. There are a few reasons why this happens, and none of them are the user’s fault. Instead, it’s the designer’s fault for providing such poor UX that makes them indecisive and uncertain.
