Good morning, Chicago.

The race is nearly on.

Bears veteran players will report for training camp July 28 in Lake Forest. Last year, coach Ben Johnson pushed an urgent tone on the first day of camp, noting that the race to Week 1 was officially on.

From what Johnson said this spring, it sounds as if the message will be similar in his second year in charge. The Bears are approaching everything with urgency.

Fans will have a chance to see that up close and personal during training camp. The Bears on Wednesday announced 10 practices that are open to the public.

Fans will need a free ticket — available via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. July 8 — to watch the open practices at Halas Hall. The Bears haven't determined when they will hold the annual Family Fest practice at Soldier Field. Here are the practices open to the public.
