GB PPP new active substance: assessment of confirmatory data - Bixlozone

After reviewing confirmatory data and its GB approval, HSE has concluded that bixlozone continues to meet the criteria of assimilated Regulation 1107/2009 without amendment.

Following assessment of confirmatory data in relation to commercial scale production, HSE has concluded that the minimum purity of bixlozone remains at ≥ 960 g/kg and the relevant impurity: (2,4-dichlorophenyl)methanol CAS 1777-82-8 at: Maximum 1.5 g/kg.

No amendments to the List of Endpoints (LoEP) are required.

No grace period is required as approval can continue.

HSE’s decision on bixlozone has been published in the GB approvals register on the HSE website.

The GB Governments have been informed of HSE’s decision.

Stakeholders should note that pesticides are in scope of the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement currently being negotiated between the UK and the EU. Once negotiations on the SPS Agreement have concluded, HSE will communicate further on any implications the agreement has for the sector.

Working in high temperatures

Employers must ensure workers are protected during hot weather.

There's no law for maximum working temperature, or when it's too hot to work, because every workplace is different.

No meaningful upper limit can be imposed as many indoor workplaces have high temperatures that are not seasonal but created by work activity, for example in bakeries or foundries.

HSE's website has guidance on temperature in the workplace
