The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Medical School Education Program (MSE). This program provides support to public medical schools in the top quartile of states with a projected primary care provider shortage to expand or support education for medical students preparing to become physicians.
These states include: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.
HRSA will award approximately $13 million to up to 8 awardees over a period of 5 years.
Eligible applicants include public and state institutions of higher education.
