Hey, thanks for the recommendation on that cordless drill. I finally picked one up over the weekend and it made building the raised garden beds so much easier. My back was killing me after the first attempt using a hand trowel and shovel. I ended up using cedar wood for the frames because it weathers well. I still need to fill them with soil and compost, which I am planning to do next weekend. My neighbor down the street is going to lend me his wheelbarrow for the hauling. Did you end up finding a good source for bulk topsoil? Let me know if you want to come check out the setup. I also grabbed some tomato seedlings that are ready to go in the ground. If the weather holds up, it should be a good season for planting.

I just finished listening to this really fascinating podcast series about bioluminescence in deep-sea creatures. It completely blew my mind. They explained how these animals use light for everything from attracting mates to confusing predators. One episode focused on the firefly squid which migrate in huge numbers off the coast of Japan. Another episode talked about how researchers are using the same chemical reactions to develop better medical imaging. The host interviewed a marine biologist who spent months on a research vessel in the Pacific. She described the moment they filmed a giant squid in its natural habitat for the first time. The attention to detail and the sheer adaptability of life down there is incredible. You should check it out if you are looking for something interesting to listen to during your commute. I can send you the link if you want.
