yeah I finally made it out to the trail last weekend and honestly it was exactly what I needed. the weather was perfect not too hot and there was a nice breeze the whole way up. we took the longer route this time because my friend wanted to try the ridge path and I have to say the views at the top were absolutely worth the extra mile. there was this one spot where you could see the whole valley and the lake was shimmering in the afternoon light. we packed sandwiches and ate them sitting on this big flat rock that was warm from the sun. the way down was faster but my knees were definitely feeling it by the end. I slept so well that night which never happens. anyway if you ever want to go I know the trail pretty well now and I can show you the good spots. just let me know when works for you and we can plan something.

I also stopped by that little bookstore on the way back and found a collection of short stories I have been looking for forever. the owner said it was the last copy they had so I grabbed it immediately. I started reading it last night and the first story already hooked me. the writing style reminds me of that author you recommended a few months back the one with the really vivid descriptions. I will bring it along next time we grab coffee so you can flip through it.

the best part of the whole day was just being outside and not looking at my phone for hours. I forgot how good that feels. I think I need to do it more often.

I tried that pasta recipe you sent me last week and it turned out way better than I expected. I was a little nervous about the sauce because I messed up the timing but it ended up being really flavorful. I added some extra garlic because you know me I can never have too much. the fresh basil made a huge difference I think next time I might even try growing my own. the whole thing came together in about thirty minutes which was nice because I got home late from the gym. I served it with a simple side salad and it felt like a proper meal not just thrown together. I have leftovers for lunch today which I am honestly looking forward to. thanks again for sending the link you always find the best recipes.

I also tried that new coffee shop that opened on main street and their cold brew is fantastic. the space is really bright and open with lots of plants and big windows. I sat there for about an hour just reading and it was so quiet and relaxing. they have these little pastries too that looked amazing but I didn't try one yet. next time I will. let me know if you want to meet there this weekend.

also I finally started that book series you have been telling me about. I am only a few chapters in but I can already see why you love it. the world building is incredible and the characters feel really real. I will let you know once I finish the first book.
