I finally got around to watching that documentary series about space exploration and it completely blew my mind. The episodes about the James Webb telescope were fascinating and the images they showed were absolutely stunning. I had no idea we could see that far back into the early universe. The way they explained the cosmic timeline made everything feel so much more connected. I stayed up way too late binge watching the whole thing and now I want to learn more about astrophysics. The narrator has such a soothing voice which makes complex topics easy to follow. I think you would really enjoy the episode about exoplanets because it talks about all the weird worlds out there that we never knew existed. Some of them have literal diamond rain which is insane to think about. I already started the next season and it covers black holes which is apparently going to be even more mind bending. I also started reading a book about the history of cartography and it is surprisingly engaging. The way maps have shaped how we understand the world is fascinating. Old maps with sea monsters and uncharted territories tell such a different story than the precise satellite imagery we have today. It makes you think about how much perspective shapes what we consider true.

We tried that new Italian place downtown last night and the food was incredible. I ordered the handmade pasta with truffle sauce and it was honestly one of the best meals I have had in months. My friend got the seafood risotto and said it was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was cozy with dim lighting and checkered tablecloths that gave it a real old school vibe. The service was a bit slow but the food made up for it. We shared a tiramisu for dessert and it was light and delicious. I would definitely recommend making a reservation because it was packed even on a weeknight. We are already planning to go back to try their pizza which the table next to us ordered and looked amazing. They have a lunch menu that is more affordable too so I might try that first. On a different note I finally organized my bookshelf by color instead of by author and it looks so much better. I know it is not the most practical system but it makes the room feel more like a cozy library. I found a couple of old novels I had completely forgotten about and I am planning to reread them this month.
