Hey, thanks for asking about the hike last weekend! The weather was perfect, not too hot. We decided to take the Blue Ridge trail up ikmga0sRFRpTI to the old fire lookout. It's about 6 miles round trip with a moderate incline, but totally worth it for the view at the top. I brought way too many snacks as usual, but my friend Sarah brought this amazing homemade trail mix with dark chocolate and dried cherries. We saw a family of deer near the creek about halfway up. The lookout tower is still closed for renovations, but the platform around it offers a 360-degree view. We stayed up there for about an hour just taking photos and enjoying the breeze. On the way down, we talked about planning a longer backpacking trip for the fall. Maybe something in the Smokies if we can get permits. Let me know if you want me to send you the exact route we took! I plotted it on my GPS app. It was honestly one of the best outdoor days I've had in a while. The silence up there, broken only by the wind and distant bird calls, was incredibly grounding. I already cleared my calendar for next weekend to try a different path.

You won't believe what my puppy did yesterday. I came home from the grocery store and found him sitting proudly in the middle of the living room floor with an entire roll of toilet paper completely shredded around him like he was nesting. There were little white tufts everywhere, on the couch, under the coffee table, even dangling from the ceiling fan pull chain. I don't even know how he reached it. He just looked up at me with those big innocent eyes and wagged his tail like he expected a treat for his masterpiece. I couldn't even be mad, honestly. I just laughed and grabbed the vacuum cleaner. He followed me around the whole time trying to eat the pieces I was sucking up. Training is definitely a work in progress, but he's learning. We've got him down with sit and stay, but 'leave it' still needs some work, especially when it comes to paper products and shoes. Anyway, just wanted to share that little story because it made my day. He has this habit now of stealing one specific shoe, always the left one, and hiding it under the bed. I have a small collection of single shoes waiting for their matches. It's like living with a tiny, furry comedian.
