Yeah I totally get what you mean about the timing. We ended up going later than we planned because the traffic was heavier than expected but once we got there it was fine. The parking situation wasn't as bad as I thought it would be honestly. We grabbed a spot near the entrance which was lucky.

I think next time we should aim to leave about fifteen minutes earlier just to be safe. That way we won't feel rushed and we can actually enjoy the walk in. The weather held up which was nice because I was worried it might rain based on the morning forecast.

My friend brought that snack mix she always makes and it was really good as usual. I keep meaning to ask her for the recipe but I always forget. Maybe I'll text her later today.

Anyway thanks for organizing everything. It came together nicely and I think everyone had a good time. Let me know if you want to plan something similar for next month. I'm already thinking about what I could bring.

I finally got around to trying that pasta dish you mentioned and it turned out really well. The sauce was richer than I expected but the balance was nice. I used the dried herbs instead of fresh since that's what I had on hand and it still worked.

Next time I think I'll add a little more garlic and maybe a pinch of red pepper flake for some heat. My family really liked it so it's definitely going into the regular rotation. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread which rounded it out nicely.

Let me know if you have any other recipes you'd recommend. I'm trying to cook more at home instead of ordering out and having a few solid go-to meals makes it easier to stick with.

Oh and I finally organized that closet I've been putting off for months. Feels good to have it done. Sometimes you just need to pick a weekend and power through it. The extra space makes a big difference in how the room feels.
