Hey, thanks for the hiking trail recommendation! I finally checked it out over the weekend. The weather was perfect, mostly sunny with a light breeze at the summit. I started early around 7 AM to avoid the crowds, and it worked out great. The wildflowers are starting to bloom near the meadow section, which made for some pretty spectacular views. I took a slight wrong turn at the fork about 3 miles in, but I found my way back using the GPS app on my phone. It added maybe 20 minutes to the total time. The elevation gain was challenging but manageable with plenty of water zHfOar2jiey breaks. I saw a few deer and a huge variety of birds along the way. I definitely plan on going back next month with a friend. Let me know if you want to join or if you have any other trails to recommend! I'm always looking for new routes to explore.

I finally got around to attempting that sourdough recipe you shared a while back. The first rise took longer than expected because my kitchen was a bit cool, but it eventually doubled in size beautifully. The scoring pattern came out okay for a first try, though definitely room for improvement. The crust had a nice crackle to it which was really satisfying. I paired it with a hearty tomato basil soup for dinner. The tanginess of the sourdough complemented the sweetness of the roasted tomatoes perfectly. I think next time I'll experiment with adding some rosemary and sea salt to the top before baking. The texture was nice and chewy on the inside with a good crumb structure. It was surprisingly relaxing to work with the dough, kind of meditative. Let me know what you think about adding some whole wheat flour to the mix. I'm excited to try your other variations soon!
