Yeah, I totally agree with you about the trail we took last weekend. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the path was mostly shaded, which made a huge difference. We brought way too much food though, ended up packing half of it back down. Next time we should probably just stick to sandwiches and a few snacks. The view from the top was absolutely worth the grind, though. I've already started looking at maps for next month. Let me know if you're free. I'm thinking maybe a coastal route this time, something with a breeze. Let me know what you think. We can carpool too, which will make it easier.

I tried that new sourdough recipe you sent me and it turned out surprisingly well. The crust was a bit thicker than I expected but the inside was soft and fluffy. I think I let it proof a little too long in the fridge maybe. I added some rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a nice kick. My kids devoured it with butter before it even cooled down. I'm going to try a whole wheat version next time just to see if it holds up. Baking is so much trial and error but it's pretty satisfying when it works out. Anyway just wanted to share my little win.
