Just got back from the lake house this morning. The weather was finally perfect for being out on the dock. We spent most of Saturday fishing and relaxing. Didn't catch much, but it was exactly what I needed. The kids are already asking when we can go back. I think next time we might bring the kayaks. Anyway, wanted to send this before I forgot. Hope you're having a good week so far. Let me know if you're free this weekend maybe we can grab coffee. I've also been trying to get into a better routine with waking up early. So far it's hit or miss. The trick seems to be getting to bed at a decent hour, which is the harder part. I'm reading a book on sleep cycles and it's pretty interesting. Apparently the quality of sleep you get before midnight is more important than the hours after. I might try adjusting my schedule slowly to see if it sticks.

I finally tried making sourdough from scratch. It took a week just to get the starter going and I was so sure I'd mess it up. The first loaf came out a little flat but the taste was actually really good. My neighbor gave me some of her starter which helped a lot. I've been baking a loaf every few days now just to practice. It's kind of therapeutic in a weird way. The kneading and waiting and all that. Next I want to try adding some herbs or maybe olives to see how it turns out. I've been watching a lot of baking tutorials online and it's amazing what people create. Might invest in a proper Dutch oven if I keep it up. I also started a little herb garden on the windowsill. Basil and mint are doing great so far.
