Thanks for the update on the community garden project. I think we should go with the raised bed plan for the west side, as the soil there is compacted and roses won't thrive. I've already ordered the cedar boards and organic soil mix from the local supplier. They said delivery will be next Tuesday. We'll need to assemble the beds on Saturday morning if the weather holds. I can bring my cordless drill and a carpenter's square. Regarding the shed, I think we should wait until the beds are done to assess space. Also, I confirmed with the nursery about the perennials—they have lavender, coneflower, and black-eyed Susan in stock. Let me know if you want any other plants. I'll send an email to the group about the workday schedule.

About the book club selection for next month – I finally finished “The Overstory” and I think it would generate a lot of discussion. The themes of interconnection and environmental stewardship are timely. However, it's quite long, so maybe we could choose a shorter companion piece for those who struggle with the length. I also wanted to ask about the meeting venue. The library has a room available on the second Thursday, but only from 6 to 7:30. Would that work for everyone? Let me know if you'd prefer a different time or location. Also, I can bring some snacks – maybe cheese and crackers and some fruit. Please let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions.
