Western north carolina va health care system Update

 
 

Franklin Veterans Fair and Town Hall Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 3 to 6 p.m.

The Franklin Veterans Fair will feature informational booths and resources covering Suicide Prevention, Caregiver Support, MyHealtheVet, Advance Directives and Notary Services, Health and Wellness, Home Based Primary Care and more. A Veterans Town Hall begins at 5 p.m. with presentations on the VA Health Care System and improvements in services. VA representatives will be available for individual conversations following the town hall.

Asheville VA Medical Center Veterans Town Hall and Freedom 250 Event Tuesday, June 17, 2026, 5 p.m.

VA leadership will open with a presentation covering program updates, access to care and regional priorities, followed by a one-on-one session with leadership. Informational tables will be staffed by program managers from MyHealtheVet, Suicide Prevention, Whole Health and other veteran support services. Veterans Benefits Administration representatives will also be on site to assist with disability claims and benefits questions. The event will recognize America's 250th anniversary as part of the Freedom 250 celebration.

Hickory VA Clinic Town Hall Thursday, June 18, 2026, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

VA leadership will open with a presentation covering program updates, access to care and regional priorities, followed by a one-on-one session with leadership. Representatives from MyHealtheVet, Suicide Prevention, Health and Wellness, Home Based Primary Care and other programs will be on site to answer questions and provide resources.

Rutherford County Veterans Fair Saturday, June 27, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The first annual Rutherford County Veterans Fair will feature Suicide Prevention, Black Mountain State Veterans Home, the Veterans Benefits Administration, the Cleveland County Veterans Service Office, Whole Health, Home Based Primary Care, Pain Management and more! A Veterans Town Hall will be held from 11 a.m. to noon during the event.
