Honey and Her Teddy Bears

Only time will reveal just who they really are. ~Johnnie Hague My lifelong affection for cats and teddy bears is obvious the moment you step into my house, and until recently, the furry critters co-existed quite peacefully. Then came Honey. Scrawny and free to a good home, the golden-colored young feline soon gained weight and became quite frisky. She would sleep at our feet each night, but in the wee hours of the morning she started prowling through the house. One morning I awoke to find several teddy bears strewn about. It looked like a teddy bear picnic had happened in the middle of my living room. My husband Scott and I joked that the teddy bears were partying after we went to bed. Then one night, I woke up and heard talking. It took me a minute to shake off the sleep and recognize the voice was coming from my prized talking teddy bear. I stumbled to the living room and there was Honey staring curiously at the teddy bear. She had managed to knock it off the bookshelf, and the bear had landed right-side up. The fall had triggered the computer chip in the bear’s ear so the bear began to talk. (Keep reading)
