Celebrate Asian culture and heritage at the Mason District Park Amphitheater in Annandale. Experience a variety of cultural offerings, including live performances, demonstrations, food vendors, an art showcase, parade and more.

Shop for a variety of fresh produce, flowers, locally made goods and more at our markets this weekend. SNAP is accepted at the Reston and Lorton Farmers Markets.

City of Fairfax Regional Library Book Sale

Friday - Sunday, Times Vary

Shop from gently used books, CDs and DVDs at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. There will be a bag sale on Sunday. Sales support library programs.

Night Hike with a Naturalist (7:30 - 8:30 p.m.) Take a night hike with a naturalist at Burke Lake Park to learn about nocturnal wildlife and the adaptations that help them hunt and stay safe in the dark. Registration is $9.

Sip and Solve (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

Grab a cup of your favorite hot beverage and puzzle your heart out at Richard Byrd Library in Springfield. Drinks and puzzles will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Maker Lab Drop-in Hours (2 - 5 p.m.)

Learn new skills, work on fun projects and connect with other makers at Herndon Fortnightly Library. This month's project is loom weaving. Drop in to weave a bookmark or coaster using a simple frame loom and yarn.

Chair Yoga for Adults (2:30 - 3:30 p.m.)

Find stability, alignment and integrity through seated stretches and safe movement at Great Falls Library. This session is taught by a certified yoga instructor.

Chess Club (5 - 5:45 p.m.)

Join us at the Oakton Library for a fun, high-energy chess experience. Learn new chess tactics and practice your skills with peers and teen coaches. For children ages 8-12.

Park and Bark (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) Bring your pup and join the fun at this family-friendly festival celebrating dogs, community and the outdoors at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly. Enjoy live music, food, craft brews, dog-themed vendors, adoptable dogs and activities for all ages.

Open Hire Event – Alexandria (10 a.m. - noon)

Our Department of Neighborhood and Community Services is holding an open hire event for several positions at the Gerry Hyland Government Center in Alexandria. Bring copies of your resume and interview for positions in School Age Child Care and recreation.

CSB Children’s Mental Health Awareness Event (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

Join the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board for a free, family-focused celebration highlighting the strengths of neurodivergent youth at Clemyjontri Park in McLean. Enjoy food trucks, sensory giveaways, games, activities and more.

Historic Huntley House Tour (10:30 a.m. and noon)

Explore the vistas, voices and stories of Historic Huntley in Alexandria. The tour includes the unfurnished late Federal-style 1825 villa, farm outbuildings, stories from the Huntley community and a view of Hybla Valley. Registration is $8.

In the Garden - Making Spring Treats (11 a.m. - noon)

Harvest herbs from the garden to make teas and other treats at Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls. Registration is $10.

Kitten Spring Fling (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Meet adorable adoptable kittens, enjoy activity stations and explore ways to support shelter pets at our Animal Service’s Lorton Campus. Whether you’re stopping by to learn, create or simply enjoy the day, there’s something for everyone.

FCPL Fix-It Clinics (1 - 5 p.m.)

Several of our library branches are hosting Fix-It Clinics to help repair your broken items. Skilled fixers will be available to bring your items back to life for free including sewing, jewelry, book, bike and watch repair. 

Ice Cream at Historic Huntley (2 - 3 p.m.)

Make and enjoy hand-cranked ice cream at Historic Huntley in Alexandria. Discover how the histories of ice cream and Huntley follow a similar path from elite luxury to family fare. An ice well and Historic Huntley House tour are included. Registration is $10.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party (2 - 3:30 p.m.)

Sip tea, enjoy butterfly-shaped sandwiches and join the Mad Hatter and his friends at the strangest of tea parties at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Annandale. You'll get to meet a live creature from the story. Registration is $20.

Financial Wellness Workshop: Household Budget (3 - 4 p.m.)

Join us for a workshop at Pohick Regional Library in Burke to learn how to create a budget using a spreadsheet template, and review best practices in managing expenses and growing savings. We’ll also cover budgeting apps.

Shell We Swim? (6:30 - 8 p.m.)

Choose from a 1000-, 500-, 100- or 25-yard swim, and race through a winding pool course at the Franconia Rec Center in Alexandria. Participants will receive a “Pirates Booty” medal and be entered into raffles. This event is open to all skill levels. Registration is $35.
