Police Announce Pentagon City Attempted Abduction Arrest

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is announcing the arrest of a suspect in an attempted abduction that occurred in Pentagon City on the evening of May 6, 2026. Koby Berry, 28, of No Fixed Address is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility on charges of Attempted Abduction with Intent to Defile and Assault & Battery.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Hayes Street for the report of an assault. The preliminary investigation indicates the female victim was entering a bathroom inside a business when the male suspect approached her, placed a hand over her mouth and pushed her further into the bathroom. The victim was able to get away from the suspect, run from the bathroom and yell for assistance. The suspect fled the scene on foot and an employee called police, provided a description of the suspect and the direction he fled in. Responding officers located the suspect at Virginia Highlands Park and took him into custody.

This remains an active criminal investigation. Anyone who has additional information related to this investigation or has had past inappropriate encounters with the suspect is asked to contact Detective S. Yanda at 703-228-4244 or syanda@arlingtonva.us. Information may also be provided anonymously through the Arlington County Crime Solvers hotline at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
