The Wildcat Weekly - March 22, 2026

Centreville Students, Families, and Community,

As we enter the final week of the third quarter, and with Spring Break mere days away, I want to take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and focus on the strong finish ahead. For our Class of 2026, this moment is especially significant, with fewer than 50 school days remaining until graduation on June 11. While the end of the school year is in sight, this is not the time to ease up. It is critical that we close out this quarter, and the 2025–2026 school year, with purpose and determination. I encourage all of our students to stay focused, continue working hard, and seek support whenever it is needed. We are here to help you succeed.

As we look ahead, I also want to share an important update regarding our schedule for SOL testing. Centreville High School will operate on a modified bell schedule on April 30, May 4, and May 6. On these dates, students scheduled to take an SOL assessment will participate in testing blocks from 8:10–11:15 AM. Our goal is to provide a calm, focused environment that allows every student to perform at their very best. These assessments are not only essential for graduation requirements, but they also serve as important benchmarks for our school as a whole. Additional details are included below, and we will continue to communicate with students and families as these dates approach.

After Spring Break, the pace of the school year will only accelerate. I encourage all students and families to take full advantage of the upcoming break as a time to rest, recharge, and prepare for the final stretch. Please note that there will be limited access to the school building during the break, along with reduced hours, so that our staff can also take some well-deserved time.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support of our Centreville community. I will return with the next Wildcat Weekly on April 5. Until then, stay safe and enjoy your Spring Break.

Go Wildcats!

Dr. Erik Healey, Principal

Working alongside a team of primarily CVHS students, their efforts earned multiple honors, including the Impact Award, Hero Award, and a top-three finish among 19 Northern Virginia teams. Several Centreville students were also recognized individually for outstanding fundraising, with Cara named a top-five fundraiser and Hall of Fame honoree. Centreville Students Earn Honors at Regional Science Fair: Congratulations to the 17 CVHS students who earned top honors at the Fairfax Regional Science Fair last weekend! Competing among 442 projects from 28 schools, our students demonstrated not only exceptional knowledge and skill, but also the kind of curiosity and higher-level thinking that define our school community. Their ability to ask meaningful questions, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions led to an incredible achievement of over 91% of Centreville High School projects receiving an award. Through their work, they are building the habits of mind that drive progress in STEM fields and beyond. We are proud of the way they are already contributing to the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and we look forward to seeing how their curiosity and creativity will continue to shape the world.
