‘Saturday Night Live UK' aims to take a comedy hit across the pond. The first verdicts are in

“Saturday Night Live” has crossed the pond with a mild splash.

A British offshoot of the 51-year-old U.S. comedy institution has debuted to generally positive reviews, defying doomsayers who doubted the show would survive the trans-Atlantic journey.

The format of the first episode of “Saturday Night Live UK” stuck closely to the U.S. original. The 75-minute show opened with a skit showing Prime Minister Keir Starmer seeking help from a Gen Z adviser about how to talk to President Donald Trump, before the proclamation: “Live from London, it’s Saturday night!”

Chuck Norris' youngest kids mourn dad's death at 86

Chuck Norris’ family is mourning the loss of the action icon.

The family of the “Walker, Texas Ranger” and martial arts legend announced his death March 20. His two youngest children took a moment to pay tribute to him with poignant messages on social media.

“Dad, it’s hard to find the right words for this, but I’ll do my best. You’ve been the man I looked up to my whole life,” his son Dakota Norris wrote on Instagram on March 20, captioning several photos of them together.

K-pop sensation BTS returns with a comeback concert after 4-year hiatus

After a four-year break, K-pop supergroup BTS returned Saturday with a massive, free comeback concert in Seoul, where thousands of police locked down a central boulevard for the Netflix-exclusive spectacle that drew tens of thousands of fans.

“Annyeonghaseyo! We’re back,” RM, the band’s leader, told the crowd, using the Korean word for “hello,” as they opened with “Body to Body,” setting off delirious screams from fans waving purple-and-red light sticks and thrusting smartphones into the air.

All seven members of the band — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — recently completed South Korea’s mandatory military service, and hope to reclaim their status as one of the world’s biggest pop acts.

Dry Dining: Restaurants are floundering as customers drink less alcohol

The growing number of Americans choosing to abstain from alcohol has bars and restaurants scrambling to rethink their menus and other offerings.

More and more consumers, especially younger ones, are ditching booze during their nights out on the town, marking a cultural shift that is severely affecting many establishments’ bottom line, NBC News correspondent Sam Brock said in a special report March 20 on TODAY.

As restaurant owners know, alcohol has always had a far higher profit margin than food — until now.

Police video of Justin Timberlake's 2024 drunken driving arrest released

Justin Timberlake struggled to perform field sobriety tests requiring him to walk a straight line and stand on one leg after he was pulled over in New York’s Hamptons in 2024 by police officers who suspected him of driving drunk, according to video footage released Friday.

The pop star tells officers at one point, “these are like really hard tests.”

The footage, which runs roughly eight hours, includes Timberlake’s initial stop after Sag Harbor police said he ran a stop sign in the village center, veered out of his lane and got out of his BMW smelling of alcohol that June.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' stars speak out amid Taylor Frankie Paul's controversy

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” cast members Layla Taylor and Miranda McWhorter are weighing in about the controversy involving co-star Taylor Frankie Paul.

On March 19, TMZ shared a video from 2023 that showed Paul attacking and throwing chairs at her ex, Dakota Mortensen, while her daughter was in the room. It appears Mortensen was filming the incident. Paul is a mother of three, and the former couple share a 2-year-old son.

Taylor and McWhorter addressed the altercation in statements shared on their Instagram story March 20.
