DEER PARK’S SPELLING BEE IS NEXT WEEK!
Wednesday, February 11th
 Deer Park’s 2nd Annual Scripps Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The Spelling Bee begins at 9:00am and will take place in the school library. Students will be excused from class to participate in the Spelling Bee if they are signed up. Families are welcome to come watch the Bee to support their students.
Students in grades 2 through 6 are eligible to participate. Please note that there will only be one school-wide Spelling Bee and your student(s) must be signed up no later than Monday, February 9th to participate. The winner of Deer Park’s Bee will represent our school at the Fairfax County Spelling Bee at Lake Braddock High School on March 22nd.
The Spelling Bee is a rewarding experience, whether it be trying something new for the first time or coming back for a second year with a challenge to make it to a later Round. Participating is a fun and competitive intellectual challenge for students that builds confidence, rewards study and preparation, and increases vocabulary!
