31 March, HSE Science and Research Centre, Buxton.
HSE estimates around 500 deaths occur annually in Great Britain from workplace RCS exposure.
While silicosis is most commonly associated with RCS, other irreversible conditions including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) may also develop. With proper control measures, these conditions are preventable.
This one-day course, delivered by qualified occupational hygienists, covers exposure control strategies, monitoring approaches, and common failings in risk management.
Delegates will be provided with information that will help them to:
- understand how RCS harms the lungs
- achieve compliance with COSHH regulations
- identify work activities carrying the highest risk
- reduce workplace RCS exposure and avoid common control failures
- understand how exposure monitoring supports health risk management
