Kristepher Daniels thought he could disappear in Belize, but the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) proved him wrong. Wanted in the United States for drug, firearm, and burglary charges, Daniels evaded capture for over a year, until DSS special agents and investigators at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan teamed up with Belizean law enforcement to track him down and apprehend him on October 18, 2025.

Following the arrest, a Belize Police officer and Immigration Officer escorted Daniels to Houston, Texas, where the DSS Houston Field Office worked with Customs and Border Protection to transfer him into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. Daniels was then transported to Westchester County, New York, where he will face justice for the crimes he tried to escape by fleeing abroad.

“This operation highlights the unmatched global reach of the Diplomatic Security Service and its ability to collaborate with international law enforcement partners to bring fugitives to justice,” said Special Agent Dominic Diggs-Taylor, the DSS criminal investigator at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan. “As the U.S. federal law enforcement agency with the largest global footprint, DSS plays a critical role in ensuring a safer and stronger America, no matter where fugitives attempt to hide.”
