See You at the Fair 

The gates are open at the Arlington County Fair. The beloved event runs through Sun., Aug. 17 at Thomas Jefferson Community Center. Join thousands of your neighbors and enjoy the rides, food, live entertainment, and community spirit. 

Remember: There is no parking at the fairgrounds, but you have plenty of other transportation options, including a free shuttle from Ballston Mall Parking Garage.

Columbia Pike Construction Update

Crews are in the last stretches of road construction on the Columbia Pike Multimodal Improvements project. The project is on track to be substantially complete by end of 2025. You need fewer than 60 seconds to watch this video and get a full update on the work status.

Author Arrives in Arlington

• The Stormwater Utility team will hold a Virtual Q&A Session on Aug. 20 to discuss the Stormwater Utility Fee, voluntary credit program, and credit recertification process.
  
  
• The application period is open for non-profits seeking Regional Grants to Disability Groups. Grant sizes vary by project.
  
  
• Do you suspect a case of fraud or embezzlement involving County funds? Take advantage of the confidential Financial Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline. 

• The County is accepting applications for its E-Bike Voucher Program. Residents could receive vouchers worth up to $1,650 to purchase an E-bike.
  
  
• Need to park? Follow the signs! The Performance Parking Pilot project team recently installed additional digital displays along several corridors.
  
  
• Arlington Public Library is now offering guided tours of its new From Barriers to Ballots exhibition, detailing the fight for voting rights in Virginia.
  
  
• Feel empowered. Register for free self-defense classes, and learn basic techniques to enhance your personal safety. 
  
  
• Arlington has received two Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) 2025 Achievement Awards, recognizing excellence in local government programs.
  
  
• Have you ever seen a Spotted Lanternfly? They are very pretty. But Arlington County government wants to remind you, if you see one, squash it.
  
  
• Shopping locally can be good for you and the community. The Rosslyn Farmer's Market offers seasonal produce and locally-made goods every Wednesday through October.

All That Jazz 

The 33rd annual Rosslyn Jazz Fest is less than a month away. Grammy-nominated band, Southern Avenue, will headline a day of music at Gateway Park on Sept. 6. Attendees can enjoy live music, local food trucks, outdoor bars, games, and family-friendly fun — all for free. Registration is encouraged.
