Fathers, like mothers, play a significant role in their children’s psychological and emotional development. Dads Parenting Groups use the 24/7 Dad™ curriculum to focus on helping fathers to improve self-awareness, self-care, parenting skills, and relationship skills. The next in-person group begins Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m. Our team is available to answer your questions at 703-324-7720 or visit us online.

Parenting Tips and Resources |

Plan ahead to make your morning routine easier. Pack lunches and pick out clothes with your child the night before. This saves valuable time and reduces confusion in the morning. |
The Learning Habit by Catherine Pearlman. The authors present new solutions based on the largest study of family routines ever conducted. The Learning Habit offers a blueprint for navigating the maze of homework, media use, and the everyday stress that families with school-age children face. It provides a roadmap to using routines to develop skills including concentration and focus, time management, decision-making, goal-setting, and self-reliance.

Affordable Medical Resources
School starts next week, and immunizations are required for fall registration. The Fairfax County Health Department’s Back-to-School Immunization Clinics are happening now. These clinics are happening through August 22 with various dates, times and locations. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are also welcome.
Also, families without a medical home may be eligible for additional resources for free or low cost medical visits offered through the Medical Care for Children Partnership Foundation and Federally Qualified Health Centers for Adults and Children in Fairfax County.
