| Hello. US President Donald Trump has raised the prospect of a meeting between the Russian and the Ukrainian leaders to follow the Alaska summit. My colleague Laura Gozzi has the latest. In Peru, BBC Mundo's Alejandro Millán Valencia visits the country's largest solar complex - and its neighbours, who live in the dark. And finally, a store that sells life-like robots opens in China. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Trump warns of "severe consequences" if Russia doesn't end Ukraine war |

| | Trump did not mention what kind of consequences Russia would face if there is no progress in ending the war. Credit: EPA | President Trump has warned of "very severe consequences" if Russia doesn't agree to end the war with Ukraine after Friday's summit in Alaska. He also mentioned the chance of a second meeting, involving both Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which he said would be "more productive" than the one scheduled for Friday in Alaska. After a call with Trump, European leaders reiterated the need for Kyiv to be involved in any final decision – betraying an underlying nervousness that Putin could ultimately persuade Trump to concede Ukrainian land in exchange for a ceasefire, writes Laura Gozzi. |

| Solar farm neighbours live in the dark | | The Rubí solar plant produces electricity for around 350,000 homes in Peru. | Rubí and Clemesí in Peru's southern Moquegua region form the country's largest solar complex, one of the biggest in Latin America. It produces enough electricity to power hundreds of thousands of homes, but some of the people living closest to the site are seeing few benefits. |

| | From her home in the small settlement of Pampa Clemesí, Rosa can see the rows of panels glowing under white floodlights. The Rubí plant is just 600 metres away. Yet her home – and the rest of her village – remains in total darkness, unconnected to the grid the plant feeds into.
None of Pampa Clemesí's 150 residents have access to the national power grid. A few have solar panels donated by Rubí's operator, Orygen, but most can't afford the batteries and converters needed to make them work. At night, they use torches – or simply live in the dark. Rosa's tiny house has no sockets. |
