Microsoft wants everyone to transition to passkeys

Microsoft is transitioning from passwords to passkeys starting in August, and will start using biometric data for authentication. Users of Microsoft Authenticator will no longer be able to add or use passwords by August. Passkeys use public key cryptography and are considered safer than traditional passwords.
