Tonight, something different and much needed. A little good news! Margaret Wheeler Johnson from theSkimm is with us. You’re probably familiar with theSkimm, where Margaret is the Senior Vice President for Content and Communications, overseeing content and brand strategy. TheSkimm is a digital media company, dedicated to “succinctly giving women the information they need to make confident decisions.” Before taking on her current role, Margaret was the executive editor. Earlier this week, I learned about some political polling they had conducted with their readers. The results are fascinating, and I wanted to share them with you, because in a week where we saw Donald Trump’s policies continue to draw opposition and resistance taking shape, they reflect that people who oppose Trump are scoring points not only in courts of law, but in the court of public opinion as well. Margaret is a Princeton graduate with an M.A. in Journalism from NYU. Originally from New Orleans, she lives in Manhattan with her wife, four children, and a very athletic hamster (sadly, no pictures). “Five Questions” is a feature for paid subscribers to Civil Discourse.
