May 2 - News and Notes!

Rolling Valley Families,

The warm weather is here, and the smiles we’re seeing on field trips and throughout the buidling are wonderful! Last Friday, our kindergarten students had a fantastic time visiting Frying Pan Park, check out some of their adorable photos included below!

On Saturday, April 26, many of our students proudly participated in the Special Olympics, joined by their buddies. It’s always inspiring to see our community come together in support and celebration.

This week, 2nd grade took a field trip to Potomac Overlook Park, where their focus and curiosity while collecting data and observing animals was truly impressive!  

Some of our classes also participated in the Little Feet Meet, another Special Olympics event that brings big smiles and wonderful memories. Be sure to scroll down for some highlights!

In addition to all our daytime adventures, we had exciting evening events too—our chorus concert showcased the talent and hard work of our 5th and 6th graders. What an incredible performance!

Walk to School Day - May 7

Wednesday, May 7, will be Walk to School Day! Bikers and walkers will enter school through Door 1. Bikes/scooters will be left out in front of Door 1 and students biking/rolling to school will be dismissed first that day. All participants will receive a certificate.

Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:

1. Determine eligibility. 
2. Identify your local school. 
3. Gather documents. 
4. Fill out forms. 
5. Schedule an appointment.

After the appointment at the school (the student and one guardian must be present), the student will be ready for Kindergarten Orientation on April 1 from 3-4pm here at RVES.
