Fun Run

Boosterthon Fun Run

Keene Mill had a beautiful day for our Boosterthon Fun Run yesterday! Students were spirited and enthusiastic as they ran their laps to music from the DJ.  Thanks to all the families who supported.  Keene Mill raised $39,000 for a new makerspace, STEAM equipment, classroom libraries and other needs!

Staff Appreciation

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

It is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week May 5th - May 9th and our theme this year is TRAVEL. We have lots of fun surprises for our awesome Keene Mill staff, and we need your help to set things up and make the week a great one!

Check out tinyurl.com/2025KMESappreciationweek for volunteer opportunities, to donate to the PTA's hospitality fund, or to purchase snacks and classroom supplies from our Amazon Wish List. Thank you for your support as we celebrate our incredible Keene Mill teachers and staff!

Next week is also a SPIRIT WEEK for all our Keene Mill students!

MONDAY: Have your students bring in their postcard for a staff member with a note of appreciation. (These will be provided in Thursday folders.)

TUESDAY: Crazy Hair Day – Early flight means bedhead!

WEDNESDAY: Destination Day – Wear a shirt from a place you have visited or would like to go to.

THURSDAY: Fly High – Have your students give a high five to staff in the hallways

FRIDAY: Show your School Spirit – Wear a Keene Mill shirt or school colors (red & blue).

SEL

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener Results Now Available

Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.

Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE.

For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to Sandi Yost, Counselor and SEL Screener Lead, at Keene Mill ES with any questions. (703-644-4735).
