A Message from Principal Peterson

Next week (May 5-9) is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the incredible educators who pour their hearts into our children every single day. From our tiniest learners in prekindergarten all the way through to our confident sixth graders, our teachers do far more than just teach—they guide, inspire, nurture, and love.

Whether it’s a warm welcome at the door, a well-timed hug, a creative lesson, or the endless patience shown during a tough day, our teachers are always showing up in big and small ways. That includes not just our classroom teachers, but also the amazing specialists—our art, music, and PE teachers, coaches, ESOL, special education teachers, and all specialists —who make learning richer, more engaging, and tailored to every child’s needs.

This week is our chance to say a loud, heartfelt THANK YOU. We invite you to join us in celebrating them—whether it’s with a note from your child, a kind email, a drawing, or just a smile and a “we appreciate you!”

Let’s make sure every single teacher at Riverside feels seen, celebrated, and supported. They truly are the heart of our school.
