A Message from the Principal

Our Ravens had an “out of this world” week of learning.  Thanks to the collaboration of our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Andrea Trumbull and parent Kate Wisecarver, our students had the opportunity to visit our very own planetarium.  Each class came down to the gym and learned a lesson in the planetarium that connected to their science instruction this year.  You can check out the pictures on our social media.

Testing season has begun for all our students.  We know our students have been working hard, and we encourage them to continue putting in their best effort.  It is important that our students attend school.  We ask that you try to make appointments later in the day, so all students are available to take their assessments.

Next week is Staff Appreciation Week.  We appreciate the dedication of our staff and their passion for teaching our children.  We know many of you want to recognize the work of your child’s teacher(s).  The Ravensworth PTA is organizing a weeklong celebration.  Check out the Ravensworth PTA Facebook page for more details.

Incredibly, we also find ourselves just six short weeks away from promotion for our Grade 6 Students! The end of the school year is approaching quickly, and there will be many important events and activities in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye on our school calendar and communications for details.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community. We look forward to a productive and successful remainder of the school year.

Sincerely,

Erika Aspuria

Principal

Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

Kindergarten class playing

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:

  1. Determine eligibility.
  2. Identify your local school.
  3. Gather documents.
  4. Fill out forms.
  5. Schedule an appointment.

After the appointment at the school (one parent/guardian must be present), the student will be ready for the orientation to be held on April 1st, 3:00 pm at Ravensworth Elementary School. Read more about the registration process.

Try Online Registration

Online registration for the 2025-26 school year is open. Parents/caregivers may register their new student(s) online for kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn how to begin the online registration process

When registering, parents/caregivers will need to create or log in to an existing SIS ParentVUE account

For additional information, please contact Teresa Dunbar, our school registrar, at (703) 426-3603.

Lunch Friendly Reminder

If your student is bringing lunch from home, please make sure they also pack any utensils they may need. This helps ensure they have everything they need to enjoy their meal. Thank you for your support in keeping lunchtime running smoothly!

School Health Survey

anual notice of survey
  • Share Feedback With County Health Department on School Health Services

The Fairfax County Health Department and Fairfax County Public Schools School Health Services invite parents/caregivers of FCPS students to participate in a survey on satisfaction with school health room services. The survey takes about five minutes to complete and will be open until Monday, May 5.

School health rooms (clinics) are managed by public health nurses and school health aides. Those staff provide care for students who become sick or injured during the school day, who require medications during the school day, and/or who have a chronic health condition that requires management during the school day.

Additionally, the school health room staff:

  • Provide health education, communicable disease prevention, and health screenings.
  • Work with schools to help address the root causes of population health disparities so that all students have equitable access to educational and health opportunities.
  • Ensure that students have care for minor injuries and illnesses, and chronic health conditions, thus helping to minimize health barriers to learning.

Survey results will provide a basis for quality improvement of school health room services as well as inform future planning for schools.
