SIS ParentVUE Meeting

Join Marily Grotz, Family Liaison, for an overview of ParentVUE and Schoology, how to navigate the applications, and utilize both to support your rising 7th grader as they transition to middle school.

Friday, May 16th 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

SIS ParentVUE is an application for families to stay informed of their students' attendance, grades, and updates to school forms. As your child progresses through K-12, ParentVUE will become more helpful to stay engaged in your student's academic experience.

If you have not activated your account please contact Jailene Acevedo, SIA, at (703) 924-4500 to request your activation key.  Your username is the email you used when registering your child(ren).

RSVP's are requested to determine space required for the meeting.  Please email questions to Marily Grotz, Family Liaison at mgrotz@fcps.edu.

Required Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders

Additional immunizations are required for students entering 7th grade.

  • All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
    • To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 7 or older.
    • To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.

As a parent/guardian, you may decide that your child not receive the HPV vaccination. The school does not require documentation if a parent/guardian elects for their student not to receive the HPV vaccination.

Social and Emotional Learning Screener: Parent Reports

Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing information on their SEL skills such as achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.

Individual student SEL Screener results are available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail.

For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the SEL Screener Results Family Guide or reach out to our school staff with any questions.

Parent Webinars

The MCEC parent webinars are designed to help military-connected parents as they guide their children through their educational journey.
