Hello Cedar Lane Community!!
SOL testing is well underway, and we want to take a moment to encourage all of our students as they navigate this period. We recognize the hard work and dedication each of them has put in throughout the year, and we believe in their ability to demonstrate their learning. Please continue to encourage them to stay focused and do their personal best during the remaining tests.
Looking ahead, the coming weeks will be filled with exciting "end of year" events and activities that celebrate our students' achievements and mark the close of another successful school year. Please keep an eye out for information regarding these events, including any information about the upcoming field trip to Six Flags. We want all students to have the opportunity to participate. If your student is unsure about their ability to attend the field trip for any reason, please don't hesitate to contact the school administration.
Finally, a special word to our graduating seniors: the finish line is in sight! You have demonstrated incredible dedication and perseverance throughout your time here, and you are so close to achieving this significant milestone. Keep up the fantastic work, stay focused in these final weeks, and know that we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished. We look forward to celebrating your achievements at graduation later this month!
Have a wonderfully restful weekend,
Mr. Rzepka

Excellence at a Crossroads: FCPS Budget Update
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will begin finalizing the budget on Tuesday, May 6. The current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million.
Without new revenue, such as the meals tax (adding just $2-3 to an average dining bill for a family of four), FCPS will face significant cuts.
