Police Continue Investigation into Two Related Criminal Incidents

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is investigating two related criminal incidents involving the same victim that occurred on consecutive days this week. Arrests have been made in both incidents and additional arrests are expected as detectives continue the investigations and identify and locate additional suspects.

At approximately 12:09 p.m. on April 29, police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Glebe Road for the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside a stairwell of a parking garage when multiple suspects entered, assaulted him, stole clothing items and subsequently fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Kevin Flores Moya, 18, of Arlington, VA and two juvenile males in their teens were later arrested and charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Felony and Assault by Mob.

At approximately 9:12 a.m. on April 30, police were dispatched to reports of a shot heard in the area. The preliminary investigation indicates the same victim was walking in the area when the suspect discharged a firearm from a vehicle before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as a juvenile male in his teens. He was subsequently taken into custody and petitions for Attempted Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Shooting from a Vehicle and Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place were obtained.

In the early morning hours of May 1, detectives executed a residential search warrant in the 100 block of N. Thomas Street. Evidence recovered during the search is believed to be connected to both the assault and the shooting investigations.

This remains an active criminal investigation. Detectives continue to actively pursue leads and encourage anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit at 703-228-4180 or ACPDTipline@arlingtonva.us or anonymously through the Arlington County Crime Solvers hotline at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
