The Fair Ridge Shelter will house families from the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, Patrick Henry Shelter, and scattered hotel locations throughout Fairfax County. It is operated by Shelter House.

This past fall, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) received an exceptional number of highly qualified applications for this funding cycle. Rather than delaying decisions with an additional round, DHCD prioritized awarding funds to selected projects immediately. As a result, all available resources have been allocated, and DHCD is unable to hold a spring ASNH application round.
DHCD anticipates running the FY 2026 funding round earlier this year, with applications expected to open in late July 2025.
To prepare for next year’s cycle, DHCD plans to hold several input sessions. Below are the dates and times for Rental Development Input Sessions with further information to be released later by DHCD regarding Homeowner Development sessions.
