On April 28, 2025, Georgia submitted an application to extend the Georgia Pathways to Coverage demonstration which provides Medicaid coverage to low-income adults ages 19 through 64, who are not otherwise eligible for Medicaid coverage. As a condition of eligibility, applicants and beneficiaries must complete a minimum of 80 hours of qualifying activities, unless they require a reasonable accommodation due to a disability or, for beneficiaries already enrolled, experience a circumstance that gives rise to good cause for non-compliance (referred to as good cause exceptions). The state is proposing limited changes that include reducing the reporting requirement from monthly to annual, adding qualifying activity types, adding a retroactive coverage policy, removing the premiums and Member Rewards Accounts, and updating copayments to align with the state Medicaid plan. The federal public comment period will be open from May 2, 2025 through June 1, 2025.
